I love it when recipes are “put everything in a pot and simmer”, and this meal is just that. Remember that the chickpeas are canned chickpeas, not the dried variety. If you want to use dried chickpeas, you will need to cook it in a slower cooker or for much longer on the stove. Even in a slow cooker, it can take quite some time for them to soften up, so you may even want to soak them overnight first.
