While this recipe calls for yams, it’s also fine to use sweet potato/kumara as the cooking time is about the same, and both are sweet root vegetables. Yams are great because they contain a good dose of vitamin C. In 100gm serving of Yams, you get about 28% of your daily intake of Vitamin C.
