The hardest part about being vegan is many people don’t understand. They ponder, “You don’t eat meat & you don’t like potatoes, *what* do you eat?” as they munch on lifeless foodish products.
The hardest part of being a vegan is not sounding bored when explaining why your vegan to drunk people for the 50th time!
Woot!
The hardest part about being vegan for me is that I am allergic to tree nuts. The number of times I have ordered a vegan meal at an average restaurant only to find surprise nuts involved is so disheartening.
“But how can you live without BACON?!?!” Etc, etc. Being told that I’m “missing out” on something is incredibly annoying. I’ve eaten bacon. I’ve decided that I don’t need it!
The hardest thing about being vegan. Is going to eat at restaurants with friends.
Or, being a soldier with no proper vegan food.
I would prep so much food if I had this book!
Hardest part about being vegan… other people being judgementel.
Love the blog!
I think being vegan is pretty easy. The hardest part for me is finding cruelty-free beauty products in stores.
Hardest part about being vegan is watching how quickly your delicious vegan home baked cookies get eaten by your non-vegan apartment….
Or a real one, the questions: “but if you were on a desert island…..”
The hardest part is living in an area that does not have what most people would consider staples for vegans. If I want anything I have to order online. Thank you.
The hardest part about being a vegan for me is being aware and reminded of the constant extreme exploitation and murder of billions of innocent sentient animals.
The hardest part of being vegan:
I live in a busy urban center, and I used to love just walking down the street and hopping into any restaurant I felt like. “Oh look how cute the sidewalk seating is at this place! Let’s eat here!” But I can’t do that anymore, now I have a much more limited selection of restaurants I can go to. It’s not the food from those places I miss so much as the freedom to be able to just go anywhere. Now I see people in groups hopping around between cafes and restaurants, and I kind of miss that.
So now my dream is to open up a trendy vegan restaurant someday with really cute sidewalk seating.
The hardest part of being vegan to me is being the only vegan in my family, especially at holidays. Oh and we’re from the south, so everything usually has lots of butter, milk and lots of animal products. So that just means more interesting foods to bring and share my yumminess with everyone.
The hardest part is probably having to dispel myths to most people I meet. I really enjoy playing a role in other’s educations, but it can be exhausting to learn the extent to which money has influenced the way most people view nutrition!
The hardest part about being vegan? Easy! For me, it’s summoning the willpower to not eat the ENTIRE tub of hummus in one sitting.
Hummus is a snack, not a meal.
Hardest part is turning down sweet treats when you’re visiting someone. It’s pretty hard for omnis to see that there’s milk, butter and eggs and almost every dessert!
The hardest part about being vegan is trying not to come off as preachy. The best way to convince someone to adapt this lifestyle is by simply living it… not by rubbing it in his/her face.
The hardest part for me is just thinking about how many products I see every day that likely involved animal exploitation in some way and knowing that it is nearly impossible to eliminate every single one of them of them from my life. We can only hope to do our very best.
The hardest part about being vegan for me is picking just one recipe to make for dinner instead of five. So much delicious food so little time.
the hardest part about being vegan is knowing that people, esp. when the facts are presented about the animal industry, don’t care and won’t change.
The hardest part for me was losing 25 lbs in the first few months when I began a vegan diet and my entire family telling me I’m too small now (even though my weight is where it should be for my height). It didn’t seem to matter to anyone that I feel better than ever.
the hardest part for me? being accommodated at social gatherings especially weddings
The hardest part of being vegan is that I am not confident enough to speak up and spread the message that everyone should hear.
The hardest part about being vegan, is being the only vegan in the family and being criticized by them. I’ve learned to deal with it throughout the years, so it’s fine now. I would also say it’s tempting in the mind to want to try other foods
Always looking for new inspiration, this book looks like I would be cooking up a treat!!
The hardest part about being vegan is food availability while traveling.
